Preservative used in Olinat Natural Cream

The absolute truth is that ALL products need some form of preservation, to prevent any cosmetic product from going off, and forming pathogens, which could be detrimental to your health.

Some firms and cosmetic products may claim that it is "PRESERVATIVE FREE" - but that seen objectively is never ever true. What is done is that the cosmetic or facial cream in question would be preserved with a compound not normally used as preservative in cosmetics, and therefore people claim that it is "preservative free" cosmetics.

Much has been written about the negative effects of parabens, and although we do not subscribe to the negativity surrounding parabens, we however decided to use an environmentally friendly and ECOCERT certified preservative in Olinat - as it is the best natural facial cream ever formulated.

Geogard 221™ is the trade name of the preservative we use in Olinat and is globally accepted (including Japan, EU, America and Australia) and offers a broad spectrum of activity on fungi and bacterial growth.

It is non-sensitizing and non-irritant and no animal testing has been done with this product, and ECOCERT approved it for organic cosmetics.

The Geogard 221™ is made from Dehydroacetic Acid and Benzyl Alcohol and is compatible for most cosmetic uses, and is manufactured by Lonza of Switzerland.

  • An olive derived emulsifier and olive derived thickener wax
