Our research scientists have worked for more than eighteen months to come up with the final formula, which we think is absolutely spot-on with what people are looking for these days - for instance being free of any added coloring agents.
To give our clients the flexibility our research team also formulated the cream in such a way that you are able to add essential oil to the facial cream - and with that, creating your own unique all natural moisturizing facial cream.
Most facial creams, and even aqueous cream tend to fall apart and separate when you add essential oils to a the cream - but this will NOT happen when using Olinat moisturizing face cream as a base to which you can add essential oils, to make a special cream to suit your needs. Apart from containing no coloring pigments, the formulation also DOES NOT contain:
- animal products
- parabens
- PEG's
- propylene glycol
- petroleum products
- formaldehyde
- sensitizing ingredients
- ingredients that are known as skin irritants
- added synthetic color pigments
- perfume - fragrance
- isothiazolinone
Using pure essential oils as a added therapeutic ingredient to your moisturizing facial cream you can decide what you want the cream to achieve, by selecting your essential oil by its therapeutic benefits...
The term 'color additive' is defined in part by United States law and is seen as a material which:
1) Is a dye, pigment or other substance made by a process of synthesis or similar artifice, or extracted, isolated or otherwise derived, with or without intermediate of final change of identity, from a vegetable, animal, mineral or other source - and;
2) When added or applied to a food, drug or cosmetic, or to the human body or any part thereof, is capable (alone or through reaction with other substances) of imparting color thereto. Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, Section 201(t)1.
In the United States a cosmetic containing a colorant (except coal-tar hair dye) that is not approved by the FDA is regarded as "adulterated" and subject to regulatory action by the FDA. Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, Section 601(e).
An exception to this requirement exists for "coal-tar" (synthetic organic) colorant used in hair dyes, provided other regulatory requirements are met.
United States color additives approved for use in the United States is listed in Title 21 of the US Code of Federal Regulations, 21 CFR, Parts 73, 74 and 82.
With the exception of "coal-tar" hair dyes, all synthetic organic color additives are subject to batch certification by the FDA.
Colorants approved for use in the EU may be found in Annex IV of the European Community (EC) Cosmetic Council Directive 76/786/EEC as amended through Directive 2003/15/EC of the European Parliament and Council.
No matter whether a particular color is subject to certification or exempt from certification, U.S. law prohibits its use in cosmetics (or any other FDA-regulated product) unless it is approved specifically for the intended use [FD&C Act, sec. 721(a)(1)(A); 21 U.S.C. 379e(a)(1)(A)].
The regulations also restrict intended use as follows:
You may not use a color additive in the area of the eye unless the regulation for that additive specifically permits such use [21 CFR 70.5(a)].
The "area of the eye" includes "he area enclosed within the circumference of the supra-orbital ridge and the infra-orbital ridge, including the eyebrow, the skin below the eyebrow, the eyelids and the eyelashes, and conjunctival sac of the eye, the eyeball, and the soft areolar tissue that lies within the perimeter of the infra-orbital ridge" [21 CFR 70.3(s)].
Although there are color additives approved for use in products such as mascara and eyebrow pencils, none is approved for dyeing the eyebrows or eyelashes.
This term does not apply to the lips or any body surface covered by mucous membrane.
For instance, if a color additive is approved for use in externally applied cosmetics, you may not use it in products such as lipsticks unless the regulation specifically permits this use [21 CFR 70.3 (v)].
No color additive may be used in injections unless its listing in the regulations specifically provides for such use.
This includes injection into the skin for tattooing or permanent makeup. The fact that a color additive is listed for any other use does not mean that it may be used for injections [21 CFR 70.5(b)].
There are no color additives listed in the regulations as approved for injections (..for "tattooing"..)
Even the preservative used in the cream is Ecocert certified for organic skin care products. To read more on the preservative used – as some firm claim to be "preservative free" please click here to read more.
